The Rajiv Karyana Store counter in Ludhiana

Our Heritage

Rooted in the bustling bazaars of Ludhiana, driven by a commitment to uncompromised quality.

Born in the Bazaar

Rajiv's Legacy

In 1985, a young Rajiv set up a modest counter in the heart of Ludhiana's bustling spice bazaar. There were no marketing campaigns, no glossy packaging—only a wooden scale, jute sacks of whole spices, and a promise to every family who walked in: nothing would ever be adulterated.

That counter quickly became a fixture for the neighbourhood. Aunties trusted it for their tadka, halwais came for their garam masala, and chai stalls returned every week for the same punchy tea blend. Word travelled the way it always has in Punjab—over a cup of chai, between two doorways.

Forty years later, the principle hasn't changed. Each blend still follows the family recipes Rajiv's mother and aunts handed down—proportions measured by memory, refined by generations, never by a marketing brief.

Continuing the Legacy

“I might be the ultimate Indian family stereotype: the son of a Lalaji, backed by a fortune my father worked hard to build. My daily challenge? Finding new ways to put that capital to work without getting yelled at.

So I’m putting it into Rajiv Karyana Store—obsessing over uncompromising quality and building a spice brand that can disrupt the market. I want people to experience exceptional spices and unmatched value for every rupee. The joke is the limitless budget; the reality is the legacy I’m building with it.
